Since I posted my poor review three days ago I have been contacted by Dunelm Customer Services. They accepted the situation with the bed base and the torn sheet and have apologised unreservedly. Furthermore, they made me a generous offer of compensation (slightly more than I was expecting) and included a future credit. They certainly did not pressure me into changing my review but I thought it only fair and reasonable to post another positive review stating that I am happy with the outcome of my complaint. Happily, I shall continue to purchase from Dunelm in the future which as they do offer excellent value over a very extensive range

I’m giving this item 5 stars with one small point worth noting. One of the draws is slightly out of alignment and doesn’t quite close fully on one edge. Luckily not on the side that’s most noticeable. A small defect that I’m hoping I can fix with a little adjustment to it. It’s exactly what it said it would be; a reasonably priced king size divan base, but it looks more expensive than it cost. The colour is lovely and the chenille material really sets it off. The draws are a good size too and the runners are really smooth when opening and closing them ( I bought the 2 draw version but would have bought the 4 if it had been in stock) It’s perfectly proportioned for my new mattress so I would definitely say it is universal. Buying the two separately has saved me a lot of money so I needn’t have worried they wouldn’t go together. Delivery was on time and the men who brought it took care throughout. I found it very easy to put together once I’d unpacked it, less than 20 minutes with a headboard attached too. I would recommend it as a nice looking and practical piece of furniture with decent storage for the price. I’m happy with my purchase. Thank you.
